Archer fires with both bat and ball to pave the playoff path

Jofra Archer’s all-round brilliance shook up Mumbai Indians as Rajasthan Royals sneaked into the playoffs with a 30-run victory at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The Riyan Parag-led side will face Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator clash on May 27.

RR were supremely creative with their batting plans. They had Ravindra Jadeja padded up and waiting to come in as the impact player but Jofra Archer walked out at number five instead. His batting wares came through to push Rajasthan Royals past the 200-run mark.

He wasn’t done yet. He opened the bowling and got Rohit Sharma to nick one behind for a duck in the opening over, proceeding to clean up Naman Dhir too.

Brief Scores: Rajasthan Royals 205/8 in 20 overs [Jofra Archer 32 (15), Dhruv Jurel 38 (26), Ravindra Jadeja 19* (11); Shardul Thakur 2-41] beat Mumbai Indians 175/9 in 20 overs [Suryakumar Yadav 60, Hardik Pandya 34; Jofra Archer 3-17, Brijesh Sharma 2-26, Yash Raj Punja 2-44] by 30 runs.
