Lynchpins return as Pakistan name full-strength squad for Australia ODIs

The Pakistan Cricket Board have announced a 16-member squad for the three-match ODI series against Australia. Shaheen Afridi will captain a side that has several high-profile names returning to the one-day setup.

Babar Azam, Shadab Khan, Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, as well as Sufyan Moqim, who did not play the Bangladesh ODIs, are part of the list. However, Mohammad Rizwan, who endured a poor PSL campaign, has been left out.

Australia are set to arrive in Pakistan in May 23, landing first in Islamabad. The first ODI will be played on May 30 in Rawalpindi, while the other two will be held in Lahore on June 2 and June 4.

Pakistan and Australia last squared off in a bilateral ODI series in late 2024, with Pakistan winning the series 2-1, their first in Australia in 22 years. Australia last toured Pakistan for an ODI series in 2022, which Pakistan claimed 2-1.

ODI squad: Shaheen Shah Afridi (C), Salman Ali Agha (VC), Abdul Samad, Abrar Ahmed, Ahmed Daniyal, Arafat Minhas, Babar Azam, Haris Rauf, Maaz Sadaqat, Muhammad Ghazi Ghori (WK), Rohail Nazir (WK), Naseem Shah, Sahibzada Farhan, Shadab Khan, Shamyl Hussain and Sufyan Moqim
