Bell has been part of the coaching setup for Derbyshire, Warwickshire and Englandβs U19 side previously. In 2023, he took up the role of consultant for New Zealand before the ODI World Cup in India and went on to be a part of Sri Lankaβs coaching unit for the tour of England in 2024. Bell has also been an active part of the Big Bash League where he has guided Melbourne Renegades and Hobart Hurricanes.
At the Capitals, Bell will link up with a coaching staff helmed by Director of Cricket Venugopal Rao, head coach Hemang Badani and bowling coach Munaf Patel. Australian Matthew Mott was the assistant coach of Delhi-based franchise during IPL 2025, where they stumbled after a solid start to finish fifth, missing out on a playoff berth in the process.
