Watch the partnership between Bairstow and Moeen bloom

In a game where as many as 427 runs were bashed, England prevailed to secure a 1-0 lead in the T20I series against South Africa, thanks to blitzkreigs from Jonny Bairstow (90 off 53 balls) and Moeen Ali (52 off 18) and a vital knock from Dawid Malan (43 off 23) that set the hosts up perfectly. The trio hit 18 sixes between them to catapult England to 234 for 6.

South Africa’s middle-order stuttered even as Reeza Hendricks tried to keep the visitors afloat, and Tristan Stubbs showed his range-hitting prowess with an incredible 72 off 28 but that proved to be inadequate. South Africa finished their 20 overs at 193 for 8, 41 runs shy of the target.
