When play finally began in Manchester after a lengthy and frustrating rain delay, England couldn’t quite blaze off the blocks in the way they would have liked, especially in a match trimmed down to 29 overs per side. In the end, they were bundled out for 201 but the fact that they reached a decent total was down to cricual thirties from Liam Livingstone and Sam Curran lower down the order. Dwaine Pretorius returned four wickets whereas Anrich Nortje and Tabraiz Shamsi claimed two each in a rain-shortened game.
