England struck after Lunch and it was the big wicket of Smith. The second new ball did the trick as the half-centurion got an outside edge through to Jos Buttler. He departs for 67, giving Stuart Broad his first wicket. The dismissal of the well-set batter broke the 115-run stand he shared with Usman Khawaja, who is unbeaten on 55 as Alex Carey joins him at the crease after Chris Green didn’t hang around for long. A few more wickets and England will have a good chance of restricting Australia under 350 in the first innings.
