It’s stumps on Day 2 of the first Test in Rawalpindi, which is proving to be a poor advertisement for the format. Imagine having to bowl on this lifeless strip on which nothing ever happens. Both England and Pakistan have tried in vain so far, but the batters have reigned supreme. Adullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq have led a strong reply to England’s 657, with the excellent opening stand worth 181 currently. England have used six bowlers, with no one really making any impact as runs came smoothly and the openers rejoiced.
