14 members of the touring England team including captain Ben Stokes have been laid low in Pakistan, according to the BBC. Harry Brook, Keaton Jennings, Zac Crawley, Ollie Pope and Joe Root were the only players to report to training ahead of the first Test, in Rawalpindi, scheduled to begin on Thursday.
It is supposed that the members of the touring party are down with viral fever, as players experience vomiting and diarrhoea. They were asked to rest within their hotel rooms in Islamabad after complaining of uneasiness, in order to contain the spread of the virus.
We are in discussions with the PCB regarding the start of the first Test due to a viral infection within our camp.#PAKvENG https://t.co/EeHAN4jU63
