Wanindu Hasaranga’s counter-punching 46-ball 66 went in vain as Sri Lanka slipped to a 60-run loss in the opening ODI against Afghanistan at the Pallekele International Stadium. Ibrahim Zadran (120-ball 106) and Fazalhaq Farooqi (4 wickets) and were the standout performers for the visitors as they collected 10 Super League points. Barring Pathum Nissanka’s 85, none of the chief Sri Lanka batters made contributions of note and that led to their loss in the series opener of the three-match ODI series.
WHAT A WIN FOR AFGHANISTAN! 🙌#AfghanAtalan put on a clinical all-round performance as they backed up a disciplined batting performance with a superb bowling effort to beat @OfficialSLC by 60 runs in the 1st game and take a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. #AFGvSL pic.twitter.com/yetWIF8qL0
