Greg Barclay re-elected as International Cricket Council chairman

Greg Barclay has been re-elected unopposed as the chairman of the International Cricket Council, the governing body of the sport. At an ICC board meeting in Melbourne on Saturday, Barclay’s opponent Dr Tavengwa Mukuhlani, the chairman of Zimbabwe Cricket, withdrew from the contest. With only a simple majority needed to win, Barclay had the support of more than a dozen directors in the 17-member Board as per Cricbuzz, including the backing of the all-powerful Board of Control for Cricket in India. The BCCI has been represented by secretary Jay Shah.
