England batter Dawid Malan opined that there is greater importance assigned to Test cricket than white-ball cricket with regard to ECB’s contract system. The experienced campaigner was handed a full-fledged contract for the period October 2021 to September 2022. However, he did lose his spot in the Test side after England crashed to a 0-4 loss in the 2021-22 Ashes series. Subsequently, Malan was demoted to an incremental contract for the phase October 2022 to September 2023.
