Axar Patel has been confirmed as the injury replacement for Ravindra Jadeja in India’s squad for the ongoing Asia Cup 2022. Jadeja, who sustained an injury in his right knee, will miss the remainder of the tournament. Axar, who was selected as one of the three standbys at the time of the squad announcement, will fly out to Dubai.
Jadeja had played his part in India’s victories in Asia Cup, having bailed India out of trouble with 29-ball 35 against Pakistan while creating a wicket out of nothing with his razor-sharp fielding against Hong Kong. He had previously been sidelined from the ODI series against West Indies due to an injury on the same knee.
