Chennai Super Kings fast bowler Khaleel Ahmed has been ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2026. He was unable to complete his quota against Kolkata Knight Riders, with Gurjapneet Singh stepping in to deliver the 17th over of the chase.
The yellow army is already rueing the services of talisman MS Dhoni, who has been nursing a calf strain for a while now. Although he has resumed light batting in the nets, the 44-year-old is still not match-fit and remains unlikely to feature in Saturday’s fixture against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He has, however, travelled with the squad for the away game.
The five-time champions have also been pegged back by the niggles to Nathan Ellis, while his replacement, Spencer Johnson, is yet to join the squad due to his own injury.
