Vaibhav Sooryavanshi smashed an eye-catching 175 to power India to pole position in the U19 World Cup 2026 final against England in Harare, smashing several records during his gem of a knock.
175 runs – Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s performance against England in the men’s 2026 Under-19 World Cup final. It is the top individual score in a final or knockout game in Youth ODIs. The previous highest was 172 by Sameer Minhas against India in the 2025 Asia Cup final.
Sooryavanshi’s 175 is also the highest score by any batter in an ICC tournament final, either at the Under-19s or senior level. Alyssa Healy’s 170 against England in the 2022 women’s ODI World Cup final was the previous highest.

14 years, 316 days – Sooryavanshi is now the youngest cricketer to register an U19 World Cup hundred; the record previously belonged to Babar Azam, who did it at 15 years, 92 days against West Indies at Palmerston North in 2010. Only Sooryavanshi (4) and Najmul Hossain Shanto (1) have scored hundreds in Youth ODIs before turning 15.
Earlier in December, he became the youngest List A centurion (aged 14 years 272 days), achieving the record against Arunachal Pradesh during the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
55 balls consumed by the left-hander made it the second-fastest U19 World Cup hundred, only behind the 51-ball effort by Australia’s Will Malajczuk against Japan earlier in the event.
