Dane van Niekerk yesterday lifted the Hundred trophy as the Oval Invincibles crushed the Southern Brave in the women’s final at Lord’s. The South African is a remarkable performer and excellent leader, but has produced few better performances than this historic outing with the ball for her country during the 2017 Women’s World Cup. Playing against the West Indies, van Niekerk became the first bowler, male or female, to take four wickets without conceding a run in international cricket. She bowled 3.2 overs, taking 4-0 with three maidens. A remarkable feat to not have a single ball bowled scored off.
