As James Anderson raised the ball aloft, drinking in the applause for his 31st five-wicket haul in Tests, England's fine-wine of a pace bowler actually let out a faint yawn. He has been his side's saviour on so many occasions it seemed even he was finding his brilliance mundanely routine.
There were some vintage Anderson deliveries, just back of a length and swinging divinely away from the outside edge, some crashing into pads and stumps. More pertinently, Anderson propelled England back into this Test match, bowling India out for 364. The home team will be fairly pleased with their efforts given the dominant position that India began the day in.
