Jason Holder was congratulated by his skipper Kraigg Brathwaite on reaching his 50th Test appearance for the West Indies. The number-one all-rounder in the world has been an excellent servant to cricket in the Caribbean, averaging nearly 32 with the bat and 27 with the ball over his previous 49 Tests, a record that would be the envy of many a great player gone by.
The Windies were playing Pakistan in the first of their two-match Test series, with day one seeing Pakistan bowled out for 217 and the home side closing on 2/2 off four overs, the brilliant Mohammad Abbas taking Powell and Bonner with him before the end of play.
