Shoaib Akhtar turns 46 today, and to celebrate we thought we’d revisit some of his most deadly deliveries. Akhtar is widely considered one of, if not the fastest bowler to ever live, having clocked a delivery at 161.3 km/h, over 100mph, against England in an ODI.
Akhtar was capable of seeing off the best, as this video attests, with his sharp bouncers and devastating yorkers. The great man racked up 444 international wickets, and is one of the reasons many of us should consider, as we are dismissed for our respective third, fourth and fifth elevens at the weekend, just how lucky we are not to have to face his like.
