Smriti Mandhana rode her luck to plunder 78 belligerent runs against Welsh Fire, who let the Indian star off on zero with Alex Griffiths shelling a sitter at deep mid-wicket. Her blitzkrieg was built on three sixes and seven fours as Southern Brave posted a mammoth 166, the highest score in The Hundred Women’s competition. Having been reprieved on nought, Mandhana survived again on 5 when she was caught at cow corner but the bowler was found to have overstepped.
