Fielding coaches come up with inventive drills every now and then to help keep their disciples swift as a hare. R Sridhar made wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant go through a cluttered regime aimed at enhancing reflexes, reducing reaction time and ensuring smooth collection of the ball into the gloves. It involved nicking deflections by a flexible stump while two men did random one-on-one catching to distract Pant’s attention. Such unique settings go a long way in improving a keeper’s body positioning and special awareness, testified by Pant’s recent outings behind the sticks.
How is that for a drill? Fielding coach @coach_rsridhar keeping the boys on their toes. #TeamIndia #ENGvIND @RishabhPant17 • @Wriddhipops • @prasidh43 • @Hanumavihari pic.twitter.com/LjER4lgFV0
