The beneficiary of a couple of dropped catches in the cordon, KL Rahul finally ran out of his luck as James Anderson had him nicking behind for 84 to whoosh past Anil Kumble’s tally on the list of highest Test wicket-takers.
While Dom Sibley handed Rahul his first life on 52 on the second day, skipper Joe Root was the culprit the second time around. Much to Anderson’s chagrin, both the sitters were shelled off his bowling. Since the onset of 2019, England’s cordon holds the worst conversion rate, botching up one out of every four chances that come their way.
