Venkatesh Prasad’s ego-bruising riposte to Aamir Sohail’s hostile gesticulation is etched into cricketing folklore. Pakistan’s Sohail badgered a cut off the former India fast bowler in the 1996 World Cup and sledged Prasad by pointing toward the direction in which he hit the boundary.
Never the one to shy away from a fight, Prasad served revenge hot as he sent the southpaw’s stumps cartwheeling on the very next ball. Besides letting the ball do the talking, he even fired verbal volleys to drill it into the batsman’s conscience that it was him who had had the last laugh in the tetchy feud.
