(Video) The stars don’t align for Mohammed Shami, yet again

Mohammed Shami’s rotten luck relegated the seamer to another fruitless toil in the opening session on Day 1 of the first Test at Trent Bridge. His penetrative lines and lengths drew theatrics aplenty from the slip cordon but couldn’t elicit the edge for once. The batsmen kept wafting at away-jaggers as plays and misses headlined Shami’s maiden spell in the match, and it would be sound advice not to believe in the statistics blindly as the wicket column all but belies the paceman’s witchcraft.
