Harry Brook bags a duck on ODI debut

Chasing a competitive target of 299, England were off to a promising start against South Africa in the first ODI in Bloemfontein. Openers Jason Roy and Dawid Malan added 53 runs in the first nine overs, and the resurgent right-hander went on to make his first century in 14 international innings. Harry Brook, however, couldn’t make a splash on debut, bagging a three-ball duck.

In the first half, Rassie van der Dussen slammed his fourth century, while David Miller scored a well-paced 53 to take the Proteas to 298/7 in 50 overs after electing to bat first. Sam Curran scalped three wickets including the prized scalp of Quinton de Kock at the top.
