The Sixers lost 5 wickets for 34 runs after Smith got out, but an improbable 30 from 14 balls from Ben Dwarshuis saw them post a strong total on the board.
Smith bludgeoned 66 from just 33 balls, including four fours and six sixes, but fell short of a third straight BBL ton, after being pinged lbw by a full toss.
