Matt Renshaw single-handedly led Brisbane Heat to victory by scoring an unbeaten 90 off 56, which included a scooped four off the last ball. Heat lost Josh Brown in the second over of the 160-run chase while Usman Khawaja was dismissed by Liam Hatcher for 14. Renshaw blazed off the blocks with a six and a four off Beau Webster in the fifth over but Marnus Labuschagne was dismissed for only 6 as he fell to a top-edge trying to slog-sweep Clint Hinchliffe, who put down Renshaw at deep midwicket shortly thereafter. It proved to be a costly drop.
