Nathan Ellis’s hat-trick and Tim David’s rollicking 76* in a chase of 136 helped Hobart Hurricanes impose a third straight defeat on Sydney Thunder at home on Sunday. Ellis sent opener Matthew Gilkes packing in the fourth over before returning at death to take out the well-set Oliver Davies five short of his fifty and Natham McAndrew for a first-ball duck to complete his hat-trick. He finished with impressive figures of 4 for 27, having bowled Ben Cutting for 16-ball 20.
