Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill crafted centuries to enable India to a mammoth 390/5 in Thiruvananthapuram. The glossy batting show was followed by a masterclass with the ball, headlined by Mohammad Siraj’s 4-32 as Sri Lanka were bowled out for a shambolic 73. It resulted in the islanders’ heaviest loss ever in ODI cricket – a margin of 317 runs. As they crashed to 39/6, Sri Lanka’s hopes lay with Dasun Shanaka and Dunith Wellalage to spare the blushes. However that was not to be, after Shanaka was bowled through the gate by a Kuldeep Yadav jaffa.
