Rishabh Pant likely to be sidelined for six months

Rishabh Pant is unlikely to play any cricket for the better part of 2023 and is set to miss a bevy of marquee events including the Indian Premier League after suffering multiple injuries in a car crash on December 30. The wicket-keeper batter has torn all three key ligaments in his knee, two of which were reconstructed recently while surgery on the third is expected to take place after six weeks, as per ESPN Cricinfo.

As a result, Pant is supposed to be sidelined for at least six months, which could also potentially affect his chances of featuring in the ODI World Cup, scheduled to take place in India in October-November, the aforementioned publication reported.
