Brendan Doggett, who finished the match against Hobart Hurricanes with figures of 4/35, took a brilliant return catch to dismiss Nathan Ellis. On the third delivery of the 16th over, Ellis hammered the ball straight back at the bowler, who reacted quickly and managed to cling onto the tough chance. Doggett also nabbed the wickets of D’Arcy Short, James Neesham and Joel Paris as Sydney Thunder moved to the second spot in the BBL table with eight points.
