Jaydev Unadkat recalled to Indian Test side for Bangladesh series

Jaydev Unadkat, the left-arm pacer, has earned a well-deserved recall to the India squad for the Test series in Bangladesh. Unadkat, who played a pivotal role in Saurashtra’s triumphant Vijay Hazare campaign, has been picked in place of Mohammed Shami who has been ruled out of the series due to a bowling arm stress. India is set to play two Tests in Bangladesh.

The 31-year-old seamer played a solitary Test in 2010, against South Africa in Centurion. Since then, he has represented India in seven ODIs and 10 T20Is but was never considered for the five-day game.
