Rohit Sharma’s quickfire fifty takes India tantalizingly close to series-levelling win

Bangladesh clinched the ODI series against India 2-0 thanks to a superb performance with the ball in defence of 271, a total built on Mehidy Hasan’s maiden ODI hundred. A blistering late cameo from Rohit Sharma worth an unbeaten 51 went in vain as Bangladesh kept their stellar home record untarnished – the Asian Tigers haven’t lost a home ODI series since October 2016.

At 189/6, India were still miles away from the target but managed to stage a challenge eventually thanks to the skipper, even as they fell short of the target by five runs.
