Imam-ul-Haq and Abdullah Shafique put an excellent opening stand for Pakistan, as they ended Day 2 at 181/0, with their side trailing England by 476 runs in the first Test at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Resuming on the overnight score of 89 on day three, Shafique brought up his century soon after stepping down the track to hoick Joe Root for a six and then tapping a single towards point. Pakistan have made merry with the bat in reply to Englandβs imposing 657 in the first innings.
