Pakistan made a promising start in reply to England’s 657 with openers Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq getting through the post-Lunch session unseparated on Day 2 of the Rawalpindi Test. By the Tea break, the openers had raised 50 each and the first-wicket stand stretched to 108. Stepping down the track to spinners, both hit a lofted six apiece.
Brief scores: England 657 (Harry Brook 153, Zak Crawley 122, Ollie Pope 108, Ben Duckett 107; Zahid Mahmood 4-235, Naseem Shah 3-140) lead Pakistan 108/0 (Abdullah Shafique 54*, Imam-ul-Haq 52*) by 549 runs.
