Zac Crawley slams fastest century by an England opener in Tests

Only six batters in history have scored a century before Lunch on the opening day of a Test match. Zac Crawley missed out on joining the elite club by nine runs, but he brought up three figures promptly after the interval. It was the fastest Test century by an England opener ever.

Ben Duckett wasn’t too far behind with a run-a-ball fifty as the English openers continued to find the gaps at will. Of the 27 overs bowled in the morning session, only eight of them didn’t feature at least one boundary and there were no maidens at all.
