Making hay in batter-friendly conditions, Crawley and Duckett race to fifties

Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett have provided England a blistering start against Pakistan in the first Test of the three-match series at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium after visiting skipper Ben Stokes opted to bat first. The series opener started on Thursday as per its schedule despite the touring party being afflicted by a virus that laid low 14 members. Ben Foakes missed out on England’s XI announced and Ollie Pope replaced him, while Liam Livingstone and Will Jacks made their Test debuts.
