Half-centurion Deandra Dottin adjudged player of the final

Adelaide Strikers tasted success as they clifted their maiden WBBL trophy after eight editions with a hard-fought 10-run win over Sydney Sixers. The Sixers finished with 137 in a chase of 148. Dottin walked to the middle at 53 for 2 and stitched a stand of 44 with Tahlia McGrath, remaining unbeaten on 52. The target didn’t look like a daunting proposition but Sixers’ batters never got going. The power-packed line up saw early departures of Suzie Bates, Alyssa Healy, Gardner and Erin Burns, with Sixers being reduced to 16 for 4. It proved too steep a mountain to climb from thereon.
