Phillip Salt was the first to depart as Australia triggered a batting implosion in the first ODI against England at the Adelaide Oval. The opener struck three boundaries to give an inkling of his destructive mood but Pat Cummins was too experienced to be fazed by the early onslaught. He stuck to his probing fourth-stump lengths and elicted an edge thanks to a hint of away movement. Salt just hung his bat out to dry sans any footwork and feeded a regulation nick to second slip, where Steve Smith was ready with his bucket hands.
Cummins has his FIRST as captain!
