Australia ODIs up next as England aim to fortify white-ball stronghold

Such is the treadmill of international cricket nowadays that around three days after winning their second T20 World Cup title, a bevy of England’s title-winning heroes will be back in action for the ODI series opener against Australia on Thursday at the Adelaide Oval. There’s rain predicted in Adelaide for the upcoming weekend but Thursday is expected to be a bright and sunny day for some keenly-fought 50-overs cricket. The likes of James Vince, Sam Billings and Olly Stone – who last played an ODI in 2018 – will aim to make an impression and take steps towards becoming regulars in this format.
