Glenn Maxwell fractures leg in freak accident, ruled out for three months

Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxweel suffered a fractured leg in a freak accident at a friend’s birthday party in Melbourne on Saturday and is likely to be ruled out for the next three months. He was sprinting around the tennis court along with the man celebrating his birthday when they both slipped and fell, leaving Maxwell’s leg trapped beneath his friend. It led to a fracture in the left fibula, which required surgery on Sunday afternoon. Maxwell’s leg has been successfully reset, but he will be out of action for eight to twelve weeks. Neither of them was in an inebriated state at the time of the incident.
