India have won their final league stage game with flying colors. They’ve put in an exceptionally strong showing to complete a 71-run win over Zimbabwe that takes them to the top of the Group 2 table, which means they meet England in the 2nd semifinal in Adelaide on November 10. The Sydney semifinal – on November 9 – will be contested by Pakistan and New Zealand.
Chasing a tall 187, Zimbabwe showed the stomach for a fight through Ryan Burl and Sikandar Raza after being down and out at 36/5. Notwithstanding the brief flutter, the result of the match was a foregone conclusion after the top-order blowout.
