That dramatic collapse of 4 for 16 in the death overs was not to New Zealand’s liking as they fail to overhaul the 180-run target set by England. 40 were required off the final 2 overs, and it was a daunting proposition, safe to say. All four of them perished in the attempt to take on the bowlers as the asking rate spiked. England did well after being hit for 54 in 30 balls since the drinks break. It was just the kind of comeback they needed to close out the game, and they have as Glenn Phillips’ excellent 62 goes in vain with the 20-run loss.
A strong all-round performance 💪🏴
