Lucky escape for Balbirnie as ball clips the stumps but bails don’t come off

Andrew Balbirnie enjoyed the rub of the green early on in his innings against Australia as the ball came in contact with the stumps but the bails didn’t come off the groove. There was a sound as the ball passed the stumps, and replays confirmed that it was the ball clipping the stumps. It was a length delivery that shaped away to beat Balbirnie and kissed the bails before flying to the keeper. Balbirnie, however, couldn’t capitalize on the lucky escape as Australia shot Ireland down to a reprehensible 25/5 in just 4 overs.
