India’s women’s cricketers will now earn a match fee equal to the men’s cricketers, BCCI secretary Jay Shah announced on Thursday. The decision was taken at the BCCI Apex Council Meeting. The development means that the women’s players will now earn INR 15 lakh for every Test, INR 6 lakh for every ODI and INR 3 lakh for every T20I they play, making them the third board after Cricket Australia and New Zealand Cricket to confirm pay parity.
