Mark Wood continued to bowl speeds north of 145kmph and beat the edge a few times. Ibrahim Zadran, though, met fire with fire as he rode the bounce to pull Wood for a six. Chris Woakes, on the other hand, found some shape to produce the edge of Ibrahim’s bat but there wasn’t a slip fielder in place. Eventually, Hazratullah Zazai slashed Ben Stokes behind square on the off-side, where Liam Livingstone took a brilliant running catch. Afghanistan have lost their openers and they are struggling to cope with the extra bounce.
