Ireland dealt Zimbabwe a double whammy in the first two overs with Brad Wheal trapping Regis Chakabva leg-before and Josh Davey cleaning up Wesley Madhevere. Sean Williams joined forces with Craig Ervine for a brief while, but his nervous presence at the crease ended in the eighth over when his lap off Leask went straight into the hands of the deep square leg fielder. By the end of the eighth over, Zimbabwe were tottering at 42 for 3. However, Raza and Ervine steered their side to a five-wicket win that knocked Scotland out of the tournament.
