Was asked if I wanted to appeal and I said no: Buttler on Wade obstructing the field

England skipper Jos Buttler said that he might have appealed against Matthew Wade with respect to obstructing the field if it were a T20 World Cup game after the visitors registered a eight-run win against Australia in the first T20I at the Optus Stadium in Perth.

In the 17th over bowled by Mark Wood, Wade miscued a pull that ricocheted off the helmet and ballooned up, while the quick attempted to take a return catch. As Wood was approaching the striker’s end to settle underneath, Wade put his left-arm out to obstruct Wood, and the pacer wasn’t able to complete the catch. However, England held back the appeal and the southpaw, evidently at fault, got away.
