Alex Hales and Jos Buttler got England off to a flier after the visitors were asked to bat first by Australia captain Aaron Finch in the first T20I in Perth. But considering the blazing start the openers gave them, the middle-order just couldn’t ride the momentum wave. But to the credit of the Australian attack, they’ve pulled things back quite well. Their seamers went on from spraying it all around to get carted as Hales and Buttler brought up fifties within 30 balls each, to finding their lengths, mixing up the slower ones well and putting the brakes.
