With the T20 World Cup round the corner, New Zealand are left sweating over the fitness of all-rounder Daryl Mitchell as he fractured his finger while batting in the nets and stands ruled out of the ongoing T20 tri-series involving Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Mitchell's right hand has now been placed in a cast which will stay put for two weeks. Head Coach Gary Stead revealed that they will take a while to evaluate the chances of him taking part in the tournament. New Zealand are set to depart for Australia on October 15. They will open their campaign against the hosts on October 22.
