India Women clinched a rain-affected game against Malaysia to bag their second win of the 2022 Asia Cup. Malaysia’s decision to bowl wasn’t quite vindicated as the opening pair of Sabbhineni Meghana and Shafali Verma put on 116 in under 14 overs. Meghana assumed the role of the aggressor, thereby allowing the out-of-form Verma to bide her time. She raced away to a 53-ball 69, hitting 11 fours and a six. Verma, sluggish as she might have been, found some rhythm to score a confidence-boosting 46 off 39. Richa Ghosh dished out a quickfire 33* as India posted a tall 181 on the board. Malaysia stuttered in response to go down by 30 runs after DLS came into the picture.
